.Mr. Bellingham is a founding principal of Shore Points Capital Management, LLC, and a private equity firm focused on making control equity investments in middle market businesses, established by the former members of the Private Capital Group of BNP Paribas.

Mr. Bellingham was responsible for originating, structuring, negotiating, closing and monitoring new and add-on investment opportunities.
Prior to joining Shore Point Capital, Walt was a Vice President at BNP Paribas Private Equity Investment Group in New York. Mr. Bellingham was responsible for all private equity investment activity in North America on behalf of BNP Paribas. The firm focused on middle market private equity investments covering a broad range of industries including; consumer products, manufacturing, distribution, energy services and outsourced business services.

Mr. Bellingham represented BNP Paribas as board member or observer for various investments including North American Energy Partners, Triumph Healthcare, and Propex Holdings. Similar board responsibilities for previously realized investments including Polaris Pool Systems, Stauber Performance Ingredients, Auction Finance Group and Chatham Technologies.

Walt joined Chemical Bank [now Chase Bank] as Vice President in the Structured Finance division in New York. At Chemical he was responsible for originators in sourcing, structuring, negotiating and syndicating $10 million to $150 million senior debt financings for middle market leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations and leveraged ESOPs.

Mr. Bellingham led all stages of the transaction process including; the due diligence process, financial modeling, sensitivity analyses, comparable company valuations, credit presentation, documentation and syndication.

Walt was also a portfolio manager and Vice President at Leonard Stern’s Hartz Mountain Industries, Inc. overseeing real estate investment portfolios for the company.

Mr. Bellingham graduated with a B.S. in Economics from Wharton at the University of Pennsylvania and holds an MBA in finance from the Graduate School of Management at Rutgers University. Walt was a Varsity letterman in lacrosse and soccer and a member of the Ivy League champion lacrosse teams.

Christopher Higgins   Strategic Advisory Partner

Mr. Higgins brings over thirty years experience in corporate financing; private equity, buy/sell transactions, originating, structuring, executing, and managing leveraged finance transactions;  including senior & mezzanine debt financing , syndicated loans, subordinated debt, and advisory services for middle market companies. Chris Higgins was formerly a Managing Director at Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors a $26 billion hedge fund and is primarily responsible for sourcing transactions for the Middle Market Credit and Growth Private Equity strategies.

Mr. Higgins was Co-founder and Managing Director of a successful boutique investment banking firm dedicated to assisting middle market companies; raise capital, provide merger & acquisitions services, and financial consulting. In his capacity as a principal of U.S. Capital Partners over the past 18 years, he has also served as interim CFO for financially distressed companies.

Mr. Higgins career started at Security Pacific National Bank in 1982 and he was Senior Vice President of syndicated loans, subordinated debt, leveraged buyouts, and mezzanine funds.  Mr. Higgins was involved in the acquisition of Security Pacific Bank by Bank of America in 1992 and left the bank to be a founding partner of U.S. Capital Partners.

Mr. Higgins past clients include: Certified Grocers, Jenny Craig, Freeman Beauty products, Patron Spirits, PETCO, Robeks Juice, Smashbox Cosmetics, 99 Cent stores, Guitar Centers retail, Cherokee apparel, MGM Grand, Saffola Foods and Supercuts retail. 

Mr. Higgins graduated with a B.A. in Business Economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara.

Hal Berger   Principal

Mr. Berger brings over twenty years experience in: middle market companies, strategic consulting, investment banking and international Fortune 500 environments [China]. During his career his clients have included several of the largest U.S. & international publicly traded & privately owned corporations as well as second and third generation family owned businesses. Mr. Berger has extensive experience in; food & beverage, consumer products, manufacturing and tech companies. Mr. Berger has advised on 40+ advisory consulting engagements representing nearly a $1 billion in transactions. Hal leads both our strategic consulting & advisory service groups. As a former entrepreneur Hal is very skilled at analyzing a company’s potential growth drivers and providing strategies for immediately growing both EBITDA and sales.

Mr. Berger’s investment banking career evolved from his experience as an entrepreneur, building start up ventures then selling the companies to private equity funds & public companies.(CSG) Creative Solutions Group, Inc. was sold to Avista Corporation and was subsequently sold to Heritage Partners (Fund II) a fund with $1.4 billion in capital under management. GK toys & media, LTD was sold to a public company listed on the Hang Seng Exchange in Hong Kong and mainland China in 2002.

Mr. Berger was a founding partner of Vision Venture Partners a strategic consulting and middle market investment banking group. As a member of the group, Mr. Berger was responsible for due diligence, business plan development, marketing analysis, and financial sourcing for assisting companies in business sales development, capital raising, mergers & acquisitions, and strategic consulting.

Prior to founding Vision Venture Partners, Mr. Berger was Director of Strategic Consulting at Pac Star Partners, a spin-off firm of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu’s Corporate Finance Group. The firm focused on capital raising ,consulting, mergers & acquisitions, syndicated financing and strategic advisory services.

Early in his career Hal worked in the financial tech space in the banking industry providing services for clients such as;  American Express, Citibank, First Interstate Bank and Wells Fargo. Mr. Berger has provided consulting services for the following companies: Michael Bloomberg founder Bloomberg News, C&F Foods, Disney, PETMATE, Fruit Patch, Hitachi USA, FOX, Mattel Toys, Nestles/Carnation, Pioneer Electronics, Seiko Instruments, Rubbermaid, Rainbird, Warner Brothers, Spectrum Brand, SONY and Universal Studios.

Mr. Berger graduated from the business school at Penn State University and attended the Harvard Business School- Executive Program.

Hal is an active runner, enjoys the beach, outdoors man and lives with his family in the Los Angeles area. Hal is the founding Director of a children’s non profit organization that assists families and children around the world. Hal is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and still an active Steeler fan.

Neil Sherlock

Mr. Sherlock is an independent Consultant at Marina Capital Group responsible for researching, sourcing opportunities, and assisting in the execution of transactions. Mr. Sherlock is involved in the due diligence process, financial modeling, sensitivity analysis, comparable company valuations, credit presentation, documentation and syndication. Prior to joining Marina Capital Group, Neil held an Associate position at Robert W. Baird & Company. At Baird, Neil was part of a team that executed presentation material for new engagements, follow on offers and IPOs. Neil conducted industry and product research, analyzed data from research to support the trading floor operations. Neil worked on the $480MM+ Dunkin Donut IPO.

Mr. Sherlock also held a position at Hellman Jordan Management as a trading assistant. During his career at Hellman Jordon he was involved in research in various industries: alternative energy, consumer products, food & beverage companies, manufacturing, specialty retail, marketing & service, pharmaceuticals and technology.  Neil worked with analysts, portfolio managers, and traders on the application of research and its relationship to their investment strategies.

Mr. Sherlock graduated with an A.B. in economics from Harvard University and holds an MBA in finance from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. 

Neil was a varsity member of the Harvard football team and awarded the elite Academic All Ivy Athlete award.

Christopher Babson   Vice President Business Development

Mr. Babson brings twenty years experience in; corporate finance, commercial banking, leveraged buy outs, loan originating, structuring, executing, and managing debt finance transactions;  including senior debt financing, asset-based lending, securitization, capital asset monitization, project finance, structured finance & equipment finance.  Mr. Babson has established & managed corporate finance & strategic relationships with middle market companies to Fortune-500 companies ranging from $10 million to $5 billion in revenue. Early in his career, Mr. Babson worked as a Vice President for GE Capital Corporation’s Commercial Finance Group. Chris was responsible for managing corporate finance marketing & business development and relationship management in the Fortune-1000 commercial markets for the southern California region. Mr. Babson led teams in executing commercial finance, secured lines of credit, term notes, asset-based lending, securitization, project finance, structured finance & equipment finance for his clients.

Prior to joining Marina Capital Partners, Chris was a Vice President at various leading commercial banks; Bank Of America, Wells Fargo, [Chase] Washington Mutual and Bank of the West.

Mr. Babson graduated with a B.A. from the University of California Los Angeles and holds an MBA in finance from the Krannert Graduate School of Management at Purdue University.

Jay Kline

Mr. Kline is a Consultant at Marina Capital Group is responsible for strategic consulting, sourcing opportunities for both early stage and established corporations, and assisting in the execution of transactions. Mr. Kline is involved in the client presentations, due diligence process, financial modeling, and deal syndication. Prior to joining Marina Capital Group, Jay held an associate position at Invent Ventures, a publicly traded start-up incubator, and was a strategic consultant for several technology startup companies.  At Invent Ventures, Jay was part of a team that built and invested in several web & mobile technology startups.

As part of the team, Jay developed financial models, valuations, and delivered investor specific presentations for Invent’s portfolio companies leading to multi- million dollar funding rounds.  In addition, Jay was responsible for the audit preparation and process required for the listing of portfolio companies on the public OTC markets. 

Mr. Kline also held a position at Diamond Capital Advisors an investment banking firm specializing in mid market M&A advisory and capital raising.

Previous to Invent Ventures, Jay was an engineer for Carl Zeiss IMT, a worldwide leader in CNC coordinate measurement machines and solutions provider for automotive and aerospace companies.  Responsible for technical sales and engineering consulting services, Jay managed fifty four [54] clients and assisted in implementing projects at such firms as Boeing, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Honda, and Robert Bosch.

Mr. Kline graduated with a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan and holds an MBA in finance from the Graziadio School of Business at Pepperdine University.
